I’m so excited, the events and tours keep coming further south, and there are spots that are already done. I can already get to about 40 miles of the route when I stay at the Myrtle Beach resorts and pretty soon I should be able to ride from Wilmington to Myrtle Beach or Charleston – I don’t know whose idea this was but it was a great one, and it is coming together nicely!

I’m thinking to head out on this again. When I drove by last week, it looked like there was some construction on the sidewalk in front of Talbot hall.

We look forward to that tour – and actually plan to have to a Raleigh to Charleston ride in 2016 as part of our Week-A-Year Tour from Canada to Key West. This year, we’ll have 45 people bike touring from Hartford, CT, to Philadelphia in August.

There should be a week tour from Wilmington NC, where the Greenway rejoins the coast, down through South Carolina – stop at the Myrtle Beach resorts oceanfront one night, or camp in Huntington Beach State Park, and end up in Charleston – that would make a great spring trip once the route through there is done. I just found out about this project in the last couple weeks – it’s great!

It will be so nice when this trail is completed – the bike ride from North Carolina near Wilmington, down through Myrtle Beach and Charleston will pass some great country and a lot of great places to stop for the night in Wilmington and Oak Island, and the North Myrtle Beach resorts are great places to stop for a day or two no matter what time of year it is – but especially in the summer, and then on down south. It’ll be nice once it is all the way done through the South!

Mebane NC needs a bike route to ATT because we want not to leave our truck parked in a unauthurized spot for any long period amount of time. We also need a list of businesses alone the route north that can help support long distance travel to VA. also need map of hot spots. And food spots.Heeeeeee! Nz
